The principle of cooking is the same as with water.

With pumpkin

The taste and usefulness are combined in this dish in equal proportions. For a glass of grits you will need 300 grams of pumpkin, cut into medium-sized cubes. Pour 4 cups of milk into a saucepan, put the pumpkin cubes, bring the contents of the container to a boil. Put 1 cup of rinsed groats on top. Cooking time - 15 minutes with regular stirring. You can cook without sugar and salt, which meets the requirements of not only weight loss programs, but also many diet tables.

Important: To prevent the porridge from sticking, take a saucepan with a thick bottom.

With meat and mushrooms

An excellent combination of restrained flavor of wheat groats and lean meat in a mushroom sauce is unlikely to leave even a gourmet indifferent. We cut 500g of meat or chicken breast in small strips, fry it in vegetable oil, add the onions and carrots chopped in cubes. Then 250g of groats are added and 3 glasses of water are poured over it. Immediately put a bay leaf, salt and black pepper. The dish is covered with a lid and stewed over low heat.

The sauce is prepared separately from 200 grams of mushrooms, it is better to take fresh mushrooms. They are boiled for 5 minutes, then cut into small pieces, pour the resulting broth, 200 ml, bring to a boil and gently add 1 tbsp of flour dissolved in water.
